You Had Me At Pinot

Wooing Tree’s wines are well known throughout NZ and often appear on the global stage for various awards and accolades, and with the vines transplanted to the new vineyard, the label will maintain its top-ranking position within Central Otago region and around the world. The new cellar door with form an important part of the tourism and hospitality quarter at Wooing Tree Estate. It will be a highly desired spot, linking in with both the community, the pedestrian underpass and cycle trails which lead you off on your next adventure.

In celebration of the transplanting of the vines at the new vineyard we thought it was the perfect time to share our favourite three wines made with these famous grapes. Whilst it was hard to choose just three, these wines showcase the uniquely diverse range on offer.

Tickled Pink Wine

TICKLED PINK – 2020

Tickled Pink is a light rosé, made 100% from Pinot Noir as a sweet wine. It has attractive aromas of peach, fig and candy floss on the nose. Intense flavours of strawberries, pineapple and caramelised citrus on the palate. This wine is a perfect match with desserts or cheeses and can be enjoyed on its own.  A very rare style of sweet wine, deliciously moreish!

Beetle Juice Pinot Noir Wine

BEETLE JUICE PINOT NOIR – 2019

No, nothing to do with the movie, but just as iconic! Ripe handpicked fruit, gentle winemaking, and maturation in French oak have resulted in an attractive wine. A soft and subtle palate of red fruits and fine-grained tannins with aromas of blackberries, plums, and spice. Showing good focus and length. Excellent value, drinking fantastically well now and will develop and cellar for several years. Goes well with a cut of lamb, a roast duck dish or any other game meat that tickles your fancy.

Wooing Tree Blondie wine

BLONDIE – 2020

This unique Blanc de Noir was made from 100% Pinot noir grapes, grown on the vineyard. Ripe hand-picked fruit and gentle winemaking have given a wonderfully balanced wine. The elegant champagne colour resulted from minimal skin contact prior to a gentle whole bunch press. The juice is fermented in stainless steel to retain the varietal and fruit characteristics. The wine shows delightful aromas of stone fruit, pear, orange zest and jasmine with white peach, apricot and a touch of honey on the palate. Best served slightly chilled – reportedly Reese Witherspoon’s favourite NZ wine!
