Since opening, BestStart Wooing Tree has quickly become a valued part of the Wooing Tree Estate neighbourhood and a welcome addition for families across Cromwell.
From the earliest planning stages of Wooing Tree Estate, our vision has been to create more than just beautiful homes. We’ve set out to build a connected, family-friendly community, one where everyday essentials like education, green spaces, and lifestyle amenities are all within easy reach.
The addition of a purpose-built childcare centre has long been part of that vision, and seeing BestStart Wooing Tree open its doors has been a proud milestone for the team.
Located near the entrance to the estate, beside State Highway 8B and just a short walk through the pedestrian tunnel to town, the centre is already making a difference. With space for up to 80 children aged from three months to six years, it offers high-quality early education in a safe, purpose-designed environment.
Last month, Centre Manager Emma Stone told the Otago Daily Times that the response from local families has been enthusiastic:
“We’ve had a steady stream of enquiries and are now actively taking enrolments. It’s clear there was a real need for more early childhood spaces in Cromwell, and it’s been heartening to receive such a warm welcome from the community.”
Designed to support busy families, the centre operates year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, with daily nutritious meals included — one less thing for parents to think about.
Local support groups have also praised the new facility. Kylie Murdoch from Mums4Mums noted that Cromwell’s childcare shortage had put real pressure on working families, and the new centre is helping to ease that burden.
