The Ultimate Trail

Discover one of the top cycle trails on the outskirts of Cromwell

Southern Lens has recently released video content that previews sections of the new Lake Dunstan Trail between Clyde and Cromwell.

The trail is 38 kilometres long, passing down the true right-hand side of the Cromwell Gorge. The video showcases the stunning scenery in which the trail is set, with truly breathtaking views all around.

Featured in the video is Tim Dennis from Southern Land, who is the project manager on the Central Otago Queenstown Trail Network. Dennis discusses the challenges faced during construction, including cantilevered trail sections as well as the bridges.

The team also spoke with Stephen Jeffery, Chair of Central Otago Queenstown Trail Network Trust, who talks with passion about the positive impact the trails have had on tourism in the area, and how the trails are built to be accessible for different types of riders.

Check out the stunning scenery in which its set and find out more about the importance of the trail to Central Otago.
