Cellar Door Now Open

After months of anticipation, the new Wooing Tree Cellar Door & Kitchen has officially opened its doors — and owners Steve and Thea Farquharson couldn’t be more thrilled to be back in front of wine lovers once again.

When the Farquharsons set out to transform their original vineyard into the vibrant Wooing Tree Estate neighbourhood, their vision was clear: to create a central gathering place where both residents and visitors could relax, connect, and enjoy the wines that put Wooing Tree on the map.

Now, that vision has come to life. Located at the entrance to the neighbourhood, right next to the pedestrian and cycle underpass to Cromwell township, the new cellar door enjoys a stunning outlook facing west towards the iconic 100-year-old Wooing Tree. With generous outdoor seating, dedicated tasting and dining areas, and an elegant, architecturally designed fit-out, the venue is already drawing in locals and wine tourists alike.

The opening of the new Cellar Door was celebrated with our neighbourhood residents.

“There has certainly been a lot of anticipation and people knocking on our door over the past couple of months asking when we’d be open!”

All 12 Wooing Tree wines are available for tasting and purchase, including limited older vintages dating back to 2009, where stocks allow. Special favourites like Blondie & Co. bubbles are available exclusively at the cellar door, online store, and to members of the Wooing Tree Wine Club.

And it’s not just about wine. The new kitchen team brings years of culinary experience and a passion for local flavours, crafting a shared plates menu that complements Wooing Tree’s varietals beautifully. Plans are already brewing for creative dessert pairings and wine-inspired specials, with evening dining on the horizon once the team is fully settled.

Our previous cellar door had a lovely rustic charm, but with Cromwell’s growth and the buzz around Wooing Tree Estate, it had outgrown itself. This new space is designed to give our guests a truly memorable experience — it’s open, welcoming, and a place to really enjoy the wine and the story behind it.”

Licensed for up to 100 seated guests indoors — and 250 for marquee events on the front lawn — the cellar door is designed for both intimate tastings and community celebrations.

Just steps away, the original Wooing Tree Pinot Noir vines have now established along the estate’s 800m vineyard buffer zone. Their first ceremonial harvest is expected next autumn, offering a special moment for visitors to witness the return of these vines to their new home.

The Wooing Tree Cellar Door & Kitchen is now open 7 days a week. Stop in, raise a glass, and be part of this exciting new chapter in Cromwell wine country.

Residents are just a short stroll from the new Cellar Door.
