New early childhood centre

PRESS RELEASE

Award winning childcare education provider BestStart is planning to open a new purpose built centre for up to 82 pre-schoolers at Wooing Tree Estate in Cromwell.

BestStart has a conditional contract to purchase a premium site within the neighbourhood centre at the entrance to Wooing Tree Estate and plans to begin building later this year.

BestStart has over 260 centres throughout New Zealand, is licensed to care for just under 18,000 full-time children each day and employs more than 4500 staff nationally. BestStart has been awarded New Zealand’s most trusted childcare brand in the annual Readers Digest consumer survey for the past three years.  The Charity currently operates centres in Alexandra, Queenstown and a Montessori in Arrowtown and is building a new childcare centre at Hanley’s Farm.

Many working families in the area have reported struggling to find spaces for their pre-schoolers, with some centres operating 18 month waiting lists. The new facility will cater for 80 children from between 3 months to 6 years of age and will employ up to 14 teachers and support staff. Construction is projected to begin this year.

BestStart Deputy CEO Fiona Hughes says early childhood education is incredibly beneficial for young children and it’s important that all families across the country have access to quality early learning programmes for their little ones.

“We’re thrilled to be opening our new purpose-built BestStart Centre in Wooing Tree Estate. Each of our centres is unique, reflecting the diverse needs of the local community, and BestStart Wooing Tree will be no exception. We are very excited to be joining this wonderful community and look forward to welcoming Cromwell whānau to our centre very soon.”

Wooing Tree Estate Development manager Stephen Cornwall says because of the good employment opportunities, good schooling and great proximity to a wider range of recreational activities Wooing Tree Estate has attracted strong interest from families with young children looking to relocate to Cromwell from other areas. But the shortage of childcare options has been a concern for some.

“Having New Zealand’s most trusted childcare operator in Wooing Tree Estate will make an enormous difference to many of the young families building their new homes at the development and in the wider Cromwell area.”

The Wooing Tree Estate neighbourhood centre will also include a new cellar door, a gastro pub and restaurant.

“Our vision with the neighbourhood centre at the entrance and the underpass to Cromwell township has always been to integrate Wooing Tree Estate and really make it part of Cromwell Town Centre.”

Meanwhile, Stage 1 and 2 of the Wooing Tree Estate development is now complete with over 50 new homes under construction or completed and a number of residents now living in the Estate. All but one of the 127 sections available in Stage 2 have been sold with further titles due this month, which means there will be considerable house building activity during the first half of 2023. In Stage 3, 86 of the 96 sections available are also sold with titles forecast to be issued in April, August, and December 2023.

Check out the sections available for you to build your new home in this idyllic spot, or contact our sales team to learn more.
